get lost

these two crazy kids are getting out of town for a almost a week to hawaii! let me tell you, I NEED this. I've been working more than a air conditioner on a hot day. which is why i've been silent for the past few days.

we're going to celebrate the 4 years we have been together and also this little life inside me!
don't you worry though, I will have some cool posts coming this week still.

Good Friday

The thing about working at a church is that you can think about Good Friday for almost a month and not really be thinking about it. Not really let it sink in... But today I feel the weight of what Jesus did for me on the cross.

In all of our busyness today, I hope we are able to stop and feel His unending love for us.

It's A...

GIRL!
On Monday night, we had the privilege of cutting into a cake that determined whether or not we would be parents to a boy or girl. The verdict is out, a year from now, I will probably own 30 hair bows.

it was such a fun night, full of anticipation, delicious cake, and good friends.
So here's to life unfolding, so grateful for this little miss inside of me.

check it: It's Friday!

and I can't help but feel like its going to be a good one! look at how the morning started with the sun pouring over the tulips that nate brought home. too good!

and here are the answers to the last post, since I know you are dying for them, and since there were soooo many questions (i'm super popular), all two of them, I will get started :)

1- Q:do you use a tablet to draw on, or do you scan your images?
Do you use adobe or illustrator?

A: I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, actually a lot of the time I am drawing on my little touch pad on my macbook, which makes my husband scratch his head, a lot.

2- Q:How did you choose a printing company? What are the typical costs for a designer to have a custom design printed?

A: I actually print all of my goods in house. I bought an epson 2880 which so far I love! It prints high quality images for a very reasonable price. Although from time to time I do use outsourced printers for jobs. I have use Overnight Prints before for business cards, and they seem to do a good job, and at a little over $15 for 100 it is quite worth it to me. I would say that there really is no general rule for custom print jobs, a lot goes into figuring out the price. You need to factor in ink, paper, envelopes, finishing..

Ask Away

I've been getting a few emails here and there from people wondering how I do the different designs and illustrations that i do, which got me thinking.. i don't think i've ever really discussed how i go about making the things i make, and printing the things i print.

so here's your chance, if you're curious about how i do things, or why i do things, or with what i do things.. please leave a comment with your question and I will happily do another post with all of my brilliant and not so brilliant answers.

even if you just wanted to know what i ate for breakfast this morning, that's fine too, because we all know that says a lot about a person.

so there you have it, hit me with your best shot. fire away. but don't make me cry :)

the ice vice

i wanted to show you all the mugshot of my greatest enemy/sweetest lover. i no longer call it by its given name. It is now known to me only as the "ice vice". pregnant or not, nobody should think about this tasty and treacherous treat as often as i do.

but sadly, i know this love affair will never end. i will be old and gray someday wishing that i could steal a delectable cone from one of my unsuspecting grandchildren.

please tell me i'm not alone..what do you crave?

new little buffalo

its no secret that what i would LOVE to do after the baby is born, is continue my work with my little buffalo, as in I would work from home on freelance design gigs. So I am trying my best now to get my marketing on like donkey kong (did I really just say that?)

anyways, with that in mind, I have been trying to get a new look out there, what do you think of the little button that I recently created? I'm not sold, but at the same time I kinda fall in love with that little awkward looking buffalo.

would love your two cents, and I would also love for you to spread that word.
I have good rates.
I play nice with others.
and some might say I make cute stuff.

so.. help a sister out? I would love it.
have an excellent week loves.
