Christmas, you gnome?

I bet you've caught onto the fact that the holidays are rolling around.
Yes, its time for every store in town to go all out with the red and green, the tinsel and candy canes. Who cares that its only thanksgiving right? right..... ;)

With that in mind I wanted to let you all know about a colossal holiday sale that i am a part of on December 13th. Its called "crafty wonderland's colossal holiday sale" i told you it was colossal..

Anyways, I am a big advocate for giving relationally for Christmas, not spending money on something that person will forget in due time.
did you know that we spend on average 450 billion dollars at Christmas and it would only take 10 billion to solve the world's water crisis? chew on that one for a bit.

anyways back to relational christmas. I love the idea of writing someone you love a letter for christmas. not a "hey how ya doin.." but a "this is who you are to me" i know I would cherish that more that set of ceramic ducks...

i hope people will buy my cards and write those letters, to those they love.

whew. one more thing to tell you, I got into a great store called oblation
really excited to be a part of that store. my husband is to, so much that he embarrassingly took a picture of me in the store.
thanks nate.
anyways, much love xo

my little buffalo = quirky

i feel like i am a pretty quirky person. I mean for the most part...
but sometimes I have a hard time thinking of quirky little sayings to put on my cards.
i may think of something, and think its really cute, and then come to find out, it wasn't at all...

anyways i made this giraffe today with this cute quirky saying next to it. what do you think?
maybe you could help me ? :)

lots of fun events this weekend, include my church's DIY fair, which is taking place tomorrow.

I have some new christmas cards in the shop as well, so take a peak!

owl girl

i drew an owl the other night, with maps for wings
(i'm starting to get more into the use of maps, very portland, right?)

i love the way owls look. i'll never forget the time that i went to see one in person for
the first time. the way that it turned its head without even moving its neck. spooky.
but in cartoon form they are so cute.

I have been crushing real hard on this night owl paper press company.
trying not to be too jealous :)

Anyways, have a happy weekend, busy one for this girl. hope yours is restful and fun.
How about i leave you a few other owl goodies:

owl see you next week ;)

the same, but different

just toying around with some ideas for a friend's nursery. which one is your favorite?
------------------
its been a busy last few weeks here in my neck of the woods.
tonight was especially nice though, as it was a night of relaxation and good food cooked by my chef/husband :)
started reading a book called The History of Love. good so far. Pretty much if you include an elderly person in the plot, I'm in.
my eyelids are falling and its only 9:51? how is that so? Darn you daylight savings...
oh well, g'night <3

about me

hi i'm lisa.
i work at a church during the day. but when the sun goes down it's design time.
i'm from the midwest which is why its hard for me to turn down a casserole.... but my husband and i moved out the the great northwest in 2007 and have since grown to love it for all of the quirkiness it has.
