the hubs and I are going to Ashland, OR on Sunday-Monday for a much needed getaway.

we will stay at a nice hotel, eat yummy food, and see Macbeth.

all my designs crammed into one... a little messy eh?

i am really excited though, i am going to send this puppy to boxcar press and they will make my very first letterpress plate..

and a very exciting monday it is!

so last week i posted that i was wanting a letterpress machine to learn about the art of letterpress. i knew that it was a long shot, but i really wanted to see, and use one of those babies!

well dreams really do come true.

a friend introduced me to a wonderful woman named Tracy who has been doing letterpress for a few years now (taught be her grandpa, how cute!)

she was so kind and generous to invite me to her house, and learn the art of letterpress.

i was over there for 3 hours and the time flew by, and i must say that i am in love with the art!

and...she is going to let me come over again and print some of my designs.

so, get ready people.. there are going to be some mylittlebuffalo letterpress cards soon.

DIY

hey all you portlanders, my church is putting on a DIY fair in November.

The fair is all about making things for people, instead of purchasing things that they'll never ever use.

It's part of our church's initiative through Advent Conspiracy, read about it.

there's a dude that i love that lives in this house, he goes by the name of nate, and he's sick :(

he came home from work sounding like some mouse that has been smoking one too many cigarettes, and not my husband.

I gave him some tea and sent him straight to bed, and although i wanted nothing more that to snuggle up and fall asleep right next to him.. i couldn't...too awake.

so i came out here in the living room and designed what i felt. thinking about putting this little sucker on a card soon.

it's funny how when you are married, or you are best friends, or you are a parent.. the mood of your beloved totally affects your mood as well. if they're sad, you're sad. if they're stoked on life, well so are you.

i like it. i mean it makes sense to me.

if he don't shine, i don't shine..

letterpress!

oh how i want one of these machines. I dream about them. my little hands churning out beautiful little imprinted cards and prints with a letterpress machine.

but unfortunately they are a pretty penny. and if i look around my house, i don't see too many of those around :( at all...maybe someday, for now i will just google them and drool, like its my job.
if anyone wants a babysitter for their's, you know who to call ;)

the big 1-0-0

i did it! i hit 100 sales in my shop today.

(i won't bother to mention that it was my best friend who hit that mark for me)

I am happy none the less!

hi pumpkin

I love the Fall, and if you ever hear me deny that statement when the rain starts falling down, just warmly remind me of this post. right. here.

we went to the pumpkin patch with some friends on Sunday, and the place was busy!

But we all took the hayride down the bumpy trail to pick out "the one."

Nate and I 's "one" is still in the trunk of the car for some reason.

I think I like that idea of pumpkin hunting more than the actual pumpkin itself.

oh well. enjoy some pics from the trip :)

My focus tonight: the kitchen.
